A Weather Phenomenon - Tsunami - WebQuest

Introduction
A WebQuest for fourth grade science class
A tsunami is a series of water waves (called a tsunami wave train) caused by the displacement of a large volume of a body of water, such as an ocean. The original Japanese term literally translates as "harbor wave."
A tsunami can be generated when convergent or destructive plate boundaries abruptly move and vertically displace the overlying water.
In a tsunami, the water along the shoreline recedes dramatically, exposing normally submerged areas.
The students work for NOAA (National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration) and it is their job to learn as much as possible about tsunami's, their destruction and ways to warn people that they are coming.
